Phone Line Protection with the amazing Go-Control from 2GIG:
One of the biggest problems facing homeowners and small business owners with an older security system, is that these old home alarm systems rely on a phone line to transmit alarm conditions. Anyone can simply walk up to the side of the home or business and cut these phone lines, prior to the forced entry, and sadly, likely get away with it. One of the biggest misperceptions the general public has about a security system, is that the monitoring station will automatically know about the phone line being cut. This is simply not true and of course poses the greatest single weakness in the system. The Go-Control from 2GIG overcomes this major flaw by transmitting alarm signals via the GSM network, just like a cell phone would do.
Home Automation
But in addition to just sending out alarm signals like traditional home alarm systems do, the Go-Control also allows remote control of the system from a computer or smart-phone. If a user realizes that he or she has forgotten to arm the alarm system on the way to work or to the airport one day, the condition can be easily fixed from a smart-phone with only a few simple clicks. In fact, the 2GIG alarm system even allows you to perform home automation functions such as remote control lights, remote control thermostat, remote control garage door openers, remote control door locks and more, with the use of optional Z-Wave smart devices.
Critical Condition Monitoring
The Go-Control can also monitor other critical conditions such as from a sump-pump high water sensor, water leak sensor, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, temperature monitor, panic button and so forth, with hands-free two-way voice communications from the monitoring station right over the keypad. Protection of nearby structures such as detached garages and sheds is a breeze with our wireless sensors. The system can also be used to help protect items in the yard such as trailers, ATVs and such.
